Smart Film — Switchable Privacy Glass on Demand

Smart film allows glass to switch from clear to opaque on demand, providing instant privacy without blinds or etched glass. Commonly used in offices, medical spaces, conference rooms, and modern commercial interiors, PDLC switchable film is controlled via wall switch, app, or voice command.

    How Smart Film Works

Smart film uses PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) technology sandwiched between two layers of film. When a low-voltage electrical current is applied, the liquid crystals align and the glass becomes transparent. When the power is turned off, the crystals scatter light and the glass appears frosted.

The transition happens in milliseconds and requires only standard low-voltage wiring—similar to what powers a thermostat. Smart film can be retrofitted onto existing glass without replacing the pane itself, making it a practical upgrade for most commercial and residential spaces.
